This course is of 3 months duration which consists of interactive lectures, discussion and practical sessions on every alternate Sunday and two
modules will be covered on each Sunday. Thus it totally consist of 12 modules
Module 1:- Examination and diagnosis of patients requiring oral surgery. Special investigations.
Module 2:- Armamentarium required in minor oral surgery. Regional anatomy of the head and neck relevant to oral surgery.
Module 3:-Basic surgical principles and complications as applied to oral surgery.
Module 4:- Surgical techniques for removal of erupted and impacted teeth. Cases discussion.
Module 5:- Pre-prosthetic surgeries. Surgical endodontics. (apicectomy) Cases discussion.
Module 6:- Management of odontogenic infections including cystic enucleation and abcess drainage. Cases discussion.
Module 7:- The maxillary sinus, its relevance to the oral surgeon. Complications in oral surgery, diagnosis and management. Cases discussion.
Module 8:- Hands on – Suturing techniques Iter maxillary fixation (IMF)
Module 9:- Hands on – Flap raising, surgical extraction, apicectomy using Goat Head.
Module 10:- Live surgery and cases discussion.
